Gustavus Adolphus College Associate Professor of German Jenifer Ward has been named Associate Provost at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Wash. Ward leaves Gustavus after joining the faculty in 1995. She will begin her new duties at Cornish on July 15.

“While at Gustavus I’ve gained valuable experience in administration so the move to higher education administrative work was something of interest to me,” Ward said. “I’ve always been active in the arts, as well, so this position was a good fit.”

Cornish asserts itself as one of only three private, nonprofit performing and visual arts colleges in the nation. The four-year college has 800 students in degree programs and offers a Bachelor of Music degree and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in art, dance, design, theater, and performance production.

“Jenifer has been an energetic and creative member of the Gustavus faculty for twelve years,” Interim Dean of the Faculty Eric Eliason said. “We will miss her, and we share her excitement for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of her at Cornish.”
