Minnesota native and member of the Super Bowl-winning Indianapolis Colts Ben Utecht will give his faith testimonial at 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at Proclaim — student-led, contemporary style worship at Gustavus Adolphus College. The event is free of charge and will take place in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

Along with giving his testimonial, Utecht and his wife, Karyn (Stordahl), will lead a musical worship service. Ben is a noted vocalist and guitarist, while Karyn is an accomplished pianist.

“I believe sharing your faith with others is important because it allows you to show them a glimpse of how special a personal relationship with Jesus can be,” Utecht said. “I love sharing my testimony and faith because I believe that is what the Lord has called me to do. He has blessed me with such an amazing opportunity as a professional athlete to reach out to teens, college students and adults.”

Ben and Karyn are University of Minnesota graduates who each were Gopher athletes — Ben a tight end for the football team and Karyn a golfer. Ben, a native of Hastings, played in 19 games this past season as tight end for the Colts. Karyn was named Miss Minnesota in 2005 and was featured on the television show “The Big Break VI” on The Golf Channel.
