The public is welcome to attend the 19th annual Transfiguration Series at Gustavus Adolphus College. The talks, on the theme “Ambiguity and Awe: The Art of Transfigured Living,” will be held Thursday, Feb. 23-Tuesday, Feb. 28 and will be presented weekdays at the 10 a.m. Daily Celebration and at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 Holy Communion service in Christ Chapel. All denominations are welcome.

This year’s Transfiguration Series will be presented by the Rev. Herbert Anderson. Anderson earned his degree from Gustavus in 1958, master of divinity from Augustana Seminary, Rock Island, Ill., and doctorate from Drew University, Madison, N.J. He has served as pastor in parish, college, and hospital settings. Anderson has served as professor of theology and counseling at many seminaries in the country, most recently at Yale Divinity School and now at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, Calif.

Anderson is said to be one of the most prolific writers in the area of pastoral care and counseling. Several of his books will be available for purchase at the Book Mark on the Gustavus campus.
