Outstanding Advisor Award Given to Gustavus Adolphus College Employee

Judy Douglas, coordinator of alcohol and drug education at Gustavus Adolphus College, was honored at the annual BACCHUS-GAMMA Network General Assembly held Nov. 10-13 in Orlando, Fla., for her exceptional caring and dedicated service to peer educators.

Judy Douglas, coordinator of alcohol and drug education at Gustavus Adolphus College, was honored at the annual BACCHUS-GAMMA Network General Assembly held Nov. 10-13 in Orlando, Fla., for her exceptional caring and dedicated service to peer educators. For the fifth time in the program’s 30 years, Douglas was recognized as the Outstanding Advisor of the Year for institutions the size of Gustavus.

The BACCHUS-GAMMA Peer Education Network is a national organization focusing on student health and safety issues. “BACCHUS” is as an acronym for Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students. GAMMA (Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol) was added to note that many affiliates were fraternity and sorority members.
