Learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls March 10

Learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls and why they are so important at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Gustavus Adolphus College. The lecture will be presented by Alex Jassen whose research and teaching concentrates on the Dead Sea Scrolls and ancient Judaism. He is also a member of the international editorial team for the Dead Sea Scrolls and has written the book Mediating the Divine: Prophesy and Revelation in the Dead Sea Scrolls and Second Temple Judaism.

Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar to Give Lecture

Richard Leppert, Samuel Russell Distinguished Chair in the Humanities at the University of Minnesota, will give a lecture, titled "Food for Thought: Representation, Eating, and the Imaginary Self."
