MJ Sun ’15 Takes Unique Path to Veterinary School
Gustavus Adolphus College senior MJ Sun '15 will graduate on May 31 with degrees in nursing and biology. In the fall, she will begin veterinary school at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Nursing Student Reaps the Benefits of Summer Internship at HCMC
After three years of coursework and clinical experiences through the Nursing Department at Gustavus Adolphus College, senior Molly Ashwill was looking for a summer internship last spring that would allow her to gain more experience in the clinical setting. Ashwill found what she was looking for through the Hennepin County Medical Center’s (HCMC) Student Nurse Internship Program and is now setting her sights on graduating this spring and joining the workforce.
Nursing Students Gaining Valuable Experience in Alaska
Six Gustavus nursing majors are currently completing clinical rotations in Fairbanks and Barrow, Alaska. In working closely with Alaska Natives, the program is designed to offer students a unique experience from a typical health care facility in Minnesota.
Barb Zust Named Finalist for 2013 Outstanding Nurses Awards
Gustavus Adolphus College Professor of Nursing Barbara Zust ’76 has been named a finalist for the 2013 Outstanding Nurses Awards, presented by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. Zust is a finalist in the “Nurse Educator” category along with Jeff Paurus of Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Wendy Dahl of Regions Hospital.
Gustavus Community Creates New Atlanta-Based Internship
Thanks to alumni networking and the work of several Gustavus administrators and faculty members, senior Alyssa Gaulrapp '13 had the opportunity to complete a once-in-a-lifetime type internship during the month of January in Atlanta, Georgia.
