Robert O. Berdahl, a 1990 alumnus of Gustavus Adolphus College is currently starring in the Guthrie Theatre production of The 39 Steps.

Five alumni and one professor from Gustavus Adolphus College were elected to the Minnesota state legislature by voters on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Gustavus alumni Thomas Hassig ’76 and Brian Ohnsorg ’97 will both be honored by the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota in November.

Ferial Pearson, a 2001 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and an English teacher at Omaha South High School in Omaha, Neb., was recently named 2010 Educator of the Year by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

Gustavus Adolphus College alumna Sara (Brigger) Dziuk ’02 was recently named Executive Director of Admission Possible Twin Cities – the nonprofit organization based in St. Paul that is dedicated to helping low-income high school students prepare for and earn admission to college.

Scott Novotny, the national comedian most frequently referred to as the new Robin Williams, will return to Gustavus as part of the College’s Homecoming Week festivities. Novotny will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 in the Björling Recital Hall.

Recent Gustavus Adolphus College graduate Melissa Mackley ’10, a four-year standout for the Gustavus women’s hockey team, has been named one of 30 finalists for the 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

Brian Evans, a 2007 alumnus of Gustavus Adolphus College, now in his fourth season with the Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater Company, has won the 2010 SAGE Award in the category of “Outstanding Performer.” The winners were announced at the annual Minnesota SAGE Awards Dinner on Sept. 14 at the Southern Theatre in Minneapolis.

Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT) will perform four works from its nationally-acclaimed repertory Saturday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. at Gustavus Adolphus College’s Anderson Theatre.

Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus Eric Butorac ’03 is the No. 38 ranked doubles player in the world with seven career ATP doubles titles to his name.
