The 34th annual MAYDAY! Peace Conference at Gustavus Adolphus College will take place Wednesday, April 30 and is titled Tibet: Finding Hope in Exile. This year’s conference will present the story of the Tibetan people—their exile experience and their efforts to maintain their identity and build a global democratic culture under difficult circumstances.

Gustavus Adolphus College has announced the winners of the 2014 Minnesota Campus Compact (MCC) Presidents’ Awards for Civic Engagement. These three awards provide an opportunity for member presidents and chancellors to give statewide recognition to effective leaders in the development of campus-community partnerships.

Laura Leland ’13 majored in biochemistry and molecular biology at Gustavus and spent two summers conducting research with professor Jeff Dahlseid. Today, she is a lab technician at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

For the second time in the Gustavus Choir’s 82-year history, it has received an invitation to perform at the American Choral Directors Association North Central Division Conference. This concert by the Gustavus Choir, conducted by Dr. Gregory Aune, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 21 at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa.
