The public is invited to the following “continuing education” lectures at Gustavus Adolphus College:
- Steve Mellema, professor of physics at Gustavus, and Shirley Mellema, Linnaeus Arboretum assistant, will present “Malaysia — Crossroads of Asia” at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12. This event will be held in Banquet Room C in the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center. Dinner will be served; the cost is $16.
- Richard Leitch, associate professor of political science at Gustavus, Jeff Jeremiason, assistant professor of environmental studies and chemistry at Gustavus, and Ron Boluan, activist for Minnesota River reclamation issues, will hold a panel discussion, titled “Activist Environmentalism,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 in the Melva Lind Interpretive Center.
- Bob Moline, professor emeritus of geography at Gustavus, will present “The Colorado River: Many Uses, Major Problems” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26 in the Interpretive Center.
These events are open to the public; pre-registration is required. The cost for each event is $5 per person, which includes coffee and dessert, unless otherwise noted.
