Video: Relay For Life

On April 20-21, Gustavus Adolphus College and the organization Colleges Against Cancer hosted their 11th annual Relay For Life event to raise money for cancer research and the American Cancer Society. This video contains interviews with Gustavus students about why they chose to participate in this year’s event.

On April 20-21, Gustavus Adolphus College and the organization Colleges Against Cancer hosted their 11th annual Relay For Life event to raise money for cancer research and the American Cancer Society. More than 340 Gustavus students took part in the event and in the process they raised more than $31,000.

Relay For Life has become one of the most successful fundraising events in the country, bringing more than 3.5 million people together annually to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost to the disease, and to help fight the disease by raising money for cancer research. Teams set a fundraising goal, camp out at the event location, and then have at least one representative on the track at all times during the overnight event, which can last up to 24 hours in length.
