Alumnus Kurt Elling Nominated for Grammy Award

Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus Kurt Elling ‘89 received his 11th Grammy nomination on Nov. 30 when the 54th annual Grammy nominations were announced in Los Angeles. Elling is nominated in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category for his newest album The Gate.

Mike Stehlik Resigns as Women’s Soccer Coach

Gustavus Adolphus College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Mike Stehlik has announced his resignation after 22 years directing the program. Stehlik compiled an overall mark of 223-137-30 in his 22 seasons and ranks 35th in career victories in NCAA Division III women’s soccer history.

Gustavus Adolphus College senior men’s soccer player Ben Ceder (Oregon, Wis.) has earned one of the highest honors granted to a collegiate student-athlete. Ceder is one of 11 NCAA Division III players to earn a spot on the 2011 Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team.

71st Annual Festival of St. Lucia is Dec. 8

Gustavus Adolphus College will celebrate its 71st annual Festival of St. Lucia at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 in Christ Chapel. As part of this seasonal tradition, five sophomore women have been chosen to serve on the Lucia court, including Susan Crane, Annalise Dobbelstein, Elizabeth Johnson, Ellen Krueger, and Jennifer Werness.
