Men’s Hockey Advances to NCAA Quarterfinals Posted on March 11th, 2010 by

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team defeated the University of St. Thomas 3-1 Wednesday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament.

The Gusties (20-6-2) will now move on to play St. Norbert College (22-3-3) in a quarterfinal game at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13 in DePere, Wis.

Against St. Thomas, the Gusties received goals from Brad Wieck, Joe Welch, and Ross Ring-Jarvi, while Rory Dynan recorded two assists. Goaltender Josh Swartout made 18 saves including 13 in the second period to earn the win.
