Professor Erazim Kohak to Visit Gustavus

Czech philosopher and writer Erazim Kohak, a professor at Charles University in Prague, will visit Gustavus Adolphus College Sept. 14-16. Kohak will speak at the College’s daily worship service on Monday, Sept. 14 and give two public lectures on the evenings of Sept. 14-15.

Gustavus Opens 148th Academic Year

Gustavus Adolphus College opened its 148th academic year Tuesday, Sept. 8 when classes resumed at 8 a.m. for more than 2,500 undergraduate students. President Jack R. Ohle addressed students, faculty, and staff at the College’s traditional opening convocation ceremony at 10 a.m. in Christ Chapel.

Men’s Golf Named Academic National Champions

The Gustavus men’s golf team has been selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America as the Academic National Champions for Division III. Coach Scott Moe’s 2008-09 squad was the only team in Division III to post a cumulative team grade point average above 3.50.
