Gustavus welcomes its new students to campus June 30-July 2 to register for their first semester of classes.

Ten Recent Graduates Join Teach For America

Gustavus Adolphus College is once again ranked in the top 20 for the number of recent graduates who will serve for two years in the Teach For America program among schools with 2,999 or fewer undergraduates.

 

Public Meeting on Wind Turbines

Gustavus Adolphus College will host a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 at the St. Peter Community Center focusing on the College's wind turbine project.

Study Ranks Gustavus Top 10 for Graduation Rate

In a study recently released by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) for Public Policy Research, Gustavus Adolphus College is ranked in the top 10 for its graduation rate among institutions with similar levels of admission selectivity.

 

Stocco Named to Interim Vice President Position

Jeffrey L. Stocco, career center director at Gustavus Adolphus College since 1990, has been appointed Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, effective July 1.

 

Gustavus Places Eighth in Directors’ Cup

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and Learfield Sports recently announced that Gustavus Adolphus College placed eighth in the Division III 2008-09 Directors' Cup standings. The Directors' Cup is the only all-sports competition in intercollegiate athletics.

 

Gustavus Student-Athletes Recognized

During the past several weeks, five Gustavus Adolphus College student-athletes have been selected to academic all-american teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and ESPN The Magazine.

 

Campus Safety Director Ray Thrower Returns to Gustavus

Following several months abroad as deputy manager of security staff at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, Ray Thrower will return to campus Monday, June 15 and officially resume his former position as Gustavus director of campus safety on July 1, 2009.

 

Sonja Andersen Selected for Student Leadership Summit

Gustavus Adolphus College graduate Sonja Andersen has been selected as one of 50 students from across the country to participate in the Hesselbein Student Leadership Summit July 11-14 at the Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh.
