The Gustavus Adolphus College Physics Club will host Dr. Felipe Menanteau from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rutgers University for a free public lecture at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7 in room 103 of F.W. Olin Hall for Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
The Gustavus Adolphus College Physics Club will host Dr. Felipe Menanteau from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rutgers University for a free public lecture at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7 in room 103 of F.W. Olin Hall for Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
Menanteau’s talk is titled “Galaxies: The Building Blocks of Our Universe,” and is funded by the Harlow Shapley Visiting Lectureship Program of the American Astronomical Society.
Menanteau will review the progress scientists have made in recent years with understanding details surrounding galaxy formation thanks to the Hubble Space Telescope and the Advanced Camera for Surveys.
