589 Seniors Receive Degrees at June 1 Commencement Ceremony

On Sunday, June 1, 589 seniors received their bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College. It was the first commencement ceremony held at the new Hollingsworth field and the final commencement ceremony with James Peterson serving as President of the College.

On Sunday, June 1, 589 seniors received their bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College. It was the first commencement ceremony held at the new Hollingsworth Field and the final commencement ceremony with James Peterson serving as President of the College.

Senior Meagan Bachmayer of Roseville, Minn., delivered the senior address. Honorary degrees were presented to David Ravinder Selveraj and Drell and Adeline Bernhardson. Associate Professor of Political Science Richard Leitch was presented the 2008 Edgar M. Carlson Award for Distinguished Teaching.

Provost Mary E. Morton also recognized four retiring members of the faculty. They include Claude Brew (English), Bill Heidcamp (Biology), Greg Mason (English), and Larry Potts (Chemistry).
