April Continuing Education Events at Gustavus

The public is invited to the following continuing education events that will be held in the Melva Lind Interpretive Center at Gustavus Adolphus College:

The public is invited to the following continuing education events that will be held in the Melva Lind Interpretive Center at Gustavus Adolphus College:

·An overview of “The World Council of Churches” will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 by Gustavus students Erin Bettendorf, Tina Erickson, Lauren Fulner, and Laura Pierce. The students will give a slide presentation and speak about their recent trip to the ninth annual Assembly of the World Council of Churches conference in Brazil. The theme of the conference was “God in your grace, transform the world.”
·”Picturing the Prairie” will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. Gareth John from the department of geography at St. Cloud State University will speak on “George Catlin’s Artistic Adventures in 1830’s Minnesota.” John will re-trace the routes of Catlin’s 1835 and 1836 expeditions, re-live the wonder of his many “discoveries,” and revisit the many sites and sights that he encountered.

The cost for each event is $5 per person and includes coffee and dessert. Pre-registration is required for these events.
