The public is invited to a continuing education lecture by Mike Lynch, broadcast meteorologist at WCCO Radio, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 in F.W. Olin Hall, room 103. Lynch will talk about astronomy, which he has been teaching to the general public through community education and nature centers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin since 1973. There will be an indoor orientation of the night sky using maps and constellation diagrams; then, participants will go outside to take in the beautiful celestial show. This is a great introduction to the world of stargazing. His new book, “Mike Lynch’s Minnesota Star Watch: The Essential Guide to our Night Sky,” will be available for purchase.
