The public is invited to the following Arbor Month events on Friday, May 7 at Gustavus Adolphus College:
- 10 a.m. — Daily Chapel in Christ Chapel
- 10:30 a.m. — Blessing of the flower beds on Eckman Mall with a reception following
- 11:15 a.m. — Luncheon in Alumni Hall featuring speaker Gary Johnson, professor of urban and community forestry, University of Minnesota Department of Forest Resources
- 1 p.m. — Linnaeus Arboretum Walk departing from the Interpretive Center
All events are free, except the luncheon. Luncheon tickets are $16 and can be reserved by calling the Office of Special Events at 507/933-7520 by Wednesday, May 5. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Linnaeus Arboretum, an organization dedicated to assisting Gustavus in the planting of trees, groves, and flower gardens.
