    Gustavus Adolphus College will hold its annual Gustavus Author Tea from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at the Courtyard Café, located in the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center.

    The 21st annual convention of the Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations will be held Saturday, April 26. The Rev. Jack Fortin will deliver this year’s keynote address.

  • Forensics Team Ranked Nationally Again

    The Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team earned a top 20 national ranking for the second consecutive year at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) April 5-7 at the University of Texas at Austin.

  • Fausto-Sterling to Speak at Moe Lecture

    Anne Fausto-Sterling, a biology and gender studies professor at Brown University, will speak at this year’s Moe Lecture in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College. This free public lecture will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

  • Memorial Service Planned for Former Religion Professor

    A memorial service to celebrate the life of the Rev. Robert Esbjornson, who passed away Oct. 26, 2007, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19 in Christ Chapel.

  • 28th MAYDAY! Peace Conference Will Focus on Water

    “Troubled Water” is the theme for this year’s Gustavus Adolphus College MAYDAY! Peace Conference — an annual event devoted to a topic relating to human rights and social justice. This year’s conference is set for Wednesday, April 30.

  • Gustavus Student Receives Fulbright Scholarship

    Gustavus Adolphus College senior Allison (Addie) Ryan has been granted a Fulbright Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year. Ryan, a native of St. Paul, Minn., will take classes and research the effects of microfinance projects directed at women in Morocco.

    Controversial theologian, biblical scholar, author, and retired Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, John Shelby Spong, will speak at Gustavus Adolphus College at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.
