Gustavus Adolphus College will begin its 147th academic year Tuesday, Sept. 2 when classes commence for the college’s 2,600 full-time students. Approximately 635 first-year students are enrolled at Gustavus this fall.
Move-in day for first-year students is Friday, Aug. 29 and new student orientation will run Aug. 29-Sept. 1 with activities including:

A convocation for new students and families at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 in Christ Chapel;

The annual President’s Banquet at 5 p.m. followed by the traditional square dance at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30;

The annual “E Pluribus Gustavus” diversity presentation to discuss transition and differences in lifestyles, social issues, and environmental changes at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31;

Academic success sessions in the morning and afternoon on Monday, Sept. 1;

A back-to-school bash featuring live entertainment and a picnic-style dinner at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1; and
-
Small group meetings led by upperclass Gustie Greeters throughout orientation.
President Jack R. Ohle will welcome all students and staff back to campus with an Opening Convocation at 10 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 2 in Christ Chapel. The public is invited.
