As communicated to the Gustavus community yesterday afternoon, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Gustavus Adolphus College and Nicollet County that will continue until 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 11.

Based on updated storm projections, the College has made the following adjustments:

  • All evening activities, concerts, and performances are canceled or postponed.

  • Friday classes will continue to meet. Students should check email and class Moodle sites for communications from instructors regarding possible changes to timing or modality.
  • Safe Rides are still planning to run on-campus tonight, but students should check email for updates throughout the evening.
  • Students should check their email for a message from Campus Safety about moving cars from city streets.
  • On-campus employees should use good judgment in determining whether to remain on campus or complete the rest of the day while working remotely. Please reach out to your supervisor if you have any questions.
  • Weather-essential employees should complete their shift and/or report to work as usual unless individual arrangements have been made. Please contact your supervisor if you have any questions.

The Market Place, Lund Center, and Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library will be open during normal operating hours. At this point, no adjustments have been made to Saturday events.

College officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and communicate any additional changes or cancellations to the campus community.

Students and staff are encouraged to stay indoors. If you must go outside, please wear appropriate winter footwear, allow extra time, and exercise caution when walking on campus. Please limit unnecessary travel and remain aware of weather conditions.
