After a spring where circumstances beyond their control required Gustavus Adolphus College students to transition to online learning, members of the Class of 2020 will be celebrated online this afternoon with a virtual graduation celebration.
May 30 has long been marked on their calendars. And though the Gustavus community cannot gather in person right now, we join together in celebrating their accomplishments.
Beginning at 1 p.m., prelude music will feature recordings of Gustavus music ensembles. At 2 p.m., a short video presentation recognizing the Class of 2020 will take place, followed by a variety of virtual departmental and organizational receptions from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Gusties near and far along with supportive family and friends are encouraged to use #Gusties20 on social media to join the conversation by sharing photos and memories.
All of the events are available on the Gustavus Commencement webpage.
Gustavus has made the commitment that it will hold on-campus commencement for members of the Class of 2020 when circumstances allow. Today is a celebration, but it is not “commencement”—when the time is right, #Gusties20 will walk across the stage on campus.
