Christmas in Christ Chapel at Gustavus Adolphus College will be held Dec. 1-3.
This year’s service, “An American Odyssey,” uses journals, diaries, and artistic voices in North America to reflect on the birth of Christ. Through Scripture and narrative, with music from the oldest of American hymnals to the creativity of living composers and arrangers, worshipers will travel a geography of heritage and discovery.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1; at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2; and 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. A limited number of tickets are still available for the 7:30 p.m. service on Sunday.
A Gustavus tradition since 1973, Christmas in Christ Chapel is an opportunity for students, their parents, faculty members, staff, and alumni to gather and celebrate the birth of Christ with music and visual art.
Performing will be the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra, the Gustavus Choir, the Choir of Christ Chapel, Christ Chapel Ringers, Lucia Singers, brass ensembles, and dancers.
