Tuesday, Sept. 2 marked the beginning of the 147th academic year at Gustavus Adolphus College. Classes resumed at 8 a.m., and President Jack R. Ohle gave the homily at a 10 a.m. opening convocation ceremony in Christ Chapel.

Gustavus Adolphus College will begin its 147th academic year Tuesday, Sept. 2 when classes commence for the college's 2,600 full-time students. Approximately 635 first-year students are enrolled at Gustavus this fall.

Wilderness Immersion Program Provides Unique Opportunity for First-Year Students

While approximately 680 first-year students will arrive at Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, Aug. 31 for new student orientation, 21 first-year students will arrive on campus a week earlier to participate in a unique experience called the New Student Wilderness Immersion Program.
