Gustavus Recognizes Newly Tenured Faculty
Gustavus Adolphus College recognized eight newly tenured faculty members during its 10 a.m. daily worship service in Christ Chapel on Friday, April 24.
Alumnus Receives Bush Foundation Grant
The Bush Foundation has named Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus Jess O. Luce '99 a 2009 Leadership Fellow. The Bush Fellowship will allow Luce to pursue a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in aging issues in the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
Valentini Named Head Men’s Tennis Coach
Tommy Valentini, a native of Duluth, Minn., has been named the head men's tennis coach at Gustavus Adolphus College. Valentini, who has been an assistant coach for the Gusties for the past three years, will replace Steve Wilkinson who is retiring after serving as the head coach for the past 39 years.
Honors Day Scheduled for May 2
On Saturday, May 2, Gustavus Adolphus College will host Honors Day, an annual event that recognizes the academic excellence and achievements of hundreds of its students.

Gary Anderson Receives 2009 Covenant Award
The Covenant Award, bestowed annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions which have strengthened the partnership between Gustavus Adolphus College and member congregations of the College's Association of Congregations, was presented to the Rev. Gary F. Anderson on Saturday, April 25.
Hillstrom Museum to Showcase Student Work
The Hillstrom Museum of Art at Gustavus Adolphus College will present Kaleidoscope: Senior Show 2009, an exhibition featuring the work of ten studio art majors at the College. The show will be on display from Saturday, May 2 through Sunday, May 31.
Pearson Granted NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced on Monday that Gustavus Adolphus senior swimmer Dave Pearson has been named one of 29 men's winter sport recipients of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
Softball and Tennis Teams Win Conference Titles
The Gustavus Adolphus College softball, men's tennis, and women's tennis teams all secured Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships during this past weekend.
