Revised Museum Hours at Gustavus Posted on March 30th, 2007 by

In conjunction with Spring Break at Gustavus Adolphus College, the school’s Hillstrom Museum of Art will be open limited hours. During the break, which runs from Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 8, the Hillstrom Museum’s hours will be limited to 1—4 p.m. from Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5.

The Hillstrom Museum of Art, located in the lower level of the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center, is renowned for its spacious galleries and an active schedule of temporary exhibitions of national, international, and regional artwork. The museum also includes art from the permanent collection and exhibits showcasing the work of students and faculty.

Currently featured in the museum is Don Palmgren: A Retrospective Exhibition that consists of the work of Don Palmgren, Gustavus professor emeritus of art. His exhibit includes a selection of representative pastels, photographs, and drawings selected from throughout his career as an artist.

Past museum exhibits have featured such themes such as Architecture of Silence: Cistercian Abbeys of France, Aerial Images: Recent Paintings by Bruce McClain, and Fatimah in America: An Installation by Hend Al-Mansour. The exhibits and openings are free and open to the public, with knowledgeable assistants and free brochures available to enhance the experience for spectators.
