International Festival to be Held Nov. 11
The public is invited to attend the annual International Festival at Gustavus Adolphus College beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in Alumni Hall of the O.J. Johnson Student Union. Many cultures will be displayed through food, displays, music, dancing, and a fashion show.
Gustavus Adolphus Student Named Phillips Scholar
Ma Lee Vang, a Gustavus Adolphus College junior majoring in communication studies, has been named a Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation Scholar for 2005-2007. This is the fifth time in five years a Gustavus student has won this award.
Fast-Breaking News — Muslims and non-Muslims break Ramadan fast Wednesdays
During the month of Ramadan (Oct. 4 to Nov. 3), each Wednesday brings a speaker to the Gustavus Adolphus College campus to share experiences of Islam during the evening breaking of the fast.

Swedish author Jonas Khemiri will be the 2005 Out of Scandinavia writer in residence Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Our Story Conference and Pan Afrikan Student Reunion This Weekend
This year, Gustavus Adolphus College will celebrate its annual Our Story Conference in conjunction with a reunion of the Black Student Organization/Pan Afrikan Student Organization on Oct. 14 and 15, 2005. The topic of this year's conference is "Dispelling the Myths of Blacks in Our Society: Race Matters." The event will celebrate the rich heritage of the African Diaspora by increasing the awareness of the struggles and triumphs of its people.
Gustavus student geoscientists will present findings to the Geological Society of America
ST. PETER, Minn. (Oct. 4, 2005) — Three Gustavus students will present their independent projects this October at the 117th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. The subjects of the students' research include the composition of Tepee Buttes, and the relevance of color when categorizing garnets.
Seminary and Divinity School Day at Gustavus
Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting a Seminary and Divinity School Day on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students from college and university campuses from around the state have been invited.
